Git is of course the recommended way to get the source of the engine. However if you really do not want to clone our git repository, then we have some source packages available below.
Windows users wanting to use cmake to compile Spring are advised to [http://github.com/spring/spring/downloads download the source directly from github]. The packages below target Linux only and do not contain certain files required to compile using cmake on Windows.

Source Code

Using Git is the recommended way to get the sources of the engine. In spite of, you can use the official tarballs to compile Spring without git.

Note: Do NOT use the zip-files from github, they are missing important data to compile Spring.

See Building spring for build instructions.

Alternative lobby client

There is one actively developed alternative lobby client, called TASClient. This lobby client is for Windows only.

The latest version of TASClient can be found here

Lobby server

If you do not want (or are unable) to use the public lobby server, you can download the server software here to run your own. See the readme here.
