Here are some areas where the wiki needs help.
Here are some areas where the wiki needs help.

* Spring is an Engine and there are many Games for it. Historically Spring was a Game and there were mods avaiable, this is bugged all over this page, so fix it:
"games" vs "mods"
Spring = Engine
Spring = engine

BA/CA/XTA/Spring:1944/EvoRTS/... = Game!

* It is currently difficult for a new user to see a coherent way to get started - we have the FAQ and the Read Me First pages.  Some of the content is contradictory, some of it is outdated, and it is all too wordy.  A coherent "do this first" guide that gets the user started is needed, followed by an obvious path of learning further.
the playable things = games (not mods)
* The order of items on the Main Page may need some cleaning.  Some of those items might be obsolete entirely.
**I wouldn't bother maintaining the Main Page at all actually - the only reason I've not deprecated is because it's still linked to from the toolbox at the bottom, and when you login (I need to look into how the toolbox can be changed, and the login should give you a "return to page you were just on" really). * Balanced Annihilation, while the most popular mod, has a very poor wiki page.

Some of the most important pages for game making are incomplete ie:
not clear, too many contradicting pages.
Weapons
A coherent "do this first" guide that gets the user started is needed.
though maybe the problem is there is actually no clear answer for this.

knorke says:
map making
is there a code tag that has synthax highlighting for Lua?
Several "complete mapmaking guides", none is 100% good.
or one that works at least?
Should be split into sub pages about "compiling", "placing features" etc.
ie put code tags around this:
The design part ("how to use photoshop") and spring specific part ("how to use mapconv") should be seperated

codeline1 <br>
missing info on game dev stuff
codeline2 <br>
weapons
codeline3 <br><br>
gives you:

<code>
pathfinder
codeline1
codeline2

codeline3
AA/BA/TA guides/unit descriptions
</code>
those guides should imo be removed once they are copied to the BA homepage

knorke says:
clans
use the pre tag
should imo be removed

Here are some areas where the wiki needs help.

"games" vs "mods"

Spring = engine

the playable things = games (not mods)

partly cleaned up, imo only matters on pages that are to be read by players.

how to start playing

not clear, too many contradicting pages. A coherent "do this first" guide that gets the user started is needed. though maybe the problem is there is actually no clear answer for this.

map making

Several "complete mapmaking guides", none is 100% good. Should be split into sub pages about "compiling", "placing features" etc. The design part ("how to use photoshop") and spring specific part ("how to use mapconv") should be seperated

missing info on game dev stuff

weapons

pathfinder

AA/BA/TA guides/unit descriptions

those guides should imo be removed once they are copied to the BA homepage

clans

should imo be removed
