Review
Following stage one or stage two of the beginners tutorial you will have some intermediary files ready to convert into the SMF and SMT map format.
- heightmap.png
- metalmap.png
- diffuse.png
- minimap
These are not all of the components that can be compiled into the smf/smt files, see the terrain type and grass pages for more info.
Compiling the smf and smt files
- Open up the terminal and navigate to your working directory
- Generate the smf and smt files by runing mapconv with these options:
springMapConvNG -t diffuse.png -h heightmap.png -m metalmap.png -minimap minimap.png -ct 1 -o mymapname
- Copy the smf and smt files to the ./mymapname.sdd/maps/ directory
Testing the map
show how you can copy the sdd directory to the maps folder to test without archiving.
Archiving to sd7
should be pretty simple to explain really.
- zip up the contents of the sdd folder
| Caution | |
|---|---|
| note about solid archive |
- copy the archive to maps folder to test
uploading to springfiles.com
will have to re-do this myself to remember
Congratulations
